Frank Lloyd Wright's Buehler Estate

The Buehler Estate is a Mid Century Modern historic event venue located in Orinda, CA. The magnificent property was designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The estate covers four acres and was landscaped by Henry Matsutani, chief designer of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The estate has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of Interior. In 2016, Vogue Magazine featured five masterpiece venue properties across the United States; The Buehler Estate was the only one in the entire San Francisco Bay Area. The Buehler Estate has also been considered one of the 15 Wedding Venues Perfect for Architecture Lovers by Curbed.

The Buehler Estate is available for special events, meetings, weddings, rehearsal dinners, private parties, fundraisers, location shoots and more. We also offer private or group guided champagne tours of the four acre estate.

"Went on a tour of the property, which is not only a historical jewel in itself, but the contents of it are also amazing. There are statues from China, centuries-old German armor, pottery from a shipwreck near Vietnam, muskets, jade, pocket-watches, paintings, the list goes on. We went primarily to see the house and its architectural beauty, but we got so much more than we bargained for (in a good way!). I can definitely see why the property would be closely monitored... the number of artifacts and amount of history located here is staggering. I love that it's so unassuming.

"After attending an event at The Buehler Estate in Orinda, CA, I was left in awe of experience. The beautifully manicured garden with waterfall and Japanese Tea House left such a lasting and magical impression. The home itself, full of beauty and intrigue was a lovely combination of redwood and block. A true to form "Usonian" that is an impressive and significant architectural gem. The halls continued to beckon me to explore them and really enjoy not only the tranquility and exquisiteness of the home but also the fine art it contains. The 22 Karat Gold Leaf ceiling was magnificent and made me feel as though I had stepped into a Gustav Klimt painting. It was truly a superlative experience.

I was also incredibly fortunate to meet the owner, who was a very charming gentleman that loved to share his knowledge of art, architecture, and culture. Nadine, the event coordinator was professional and incredibly organized."
